Health & Safety Waiver

Last updated October 26, 2026

Your health and safety come first. Please read this carefully before your appointment. By booking, you confirm you have read it, will give us accurate health information, and accept the risks described below.

1. Your health information

You agree to tell us before service begins about anything that could affect your treatment, including:

  • Known allergies or sensitivities, especially to acrylic (methacrylate), gel, adhesives, latex, fragrance or nail products.
  • Skin or nail conditions, such as fungus, infection, open cuts, warts, eczema, psoriasis, or any redness, swelling or pain around the nails.
  • Pregnancy, diabetes, poor circulation, a weakened immune system, blood thinners, chemotherapy or other medical conditions or medications.

If you have an infection, fungus or open wound on or near your nails or hands, we must decline or reschedule service. A doctor's note may be required.

2. Risks of nail services

Nail services involve products, tools and UV/LED light. Decorative elements such as 3D art, charms, spikes, gems and extra-long lengths add risks of snagging, scratching and breakage. Possible risks include allergic reaction (including a lasting acrylic or gel allergy), skin or nail irritation, thinning or weakened natural nails, lifting, breakage, cuts or nicks, bruising, pressure discomfort, burning or heat sensation while gel cures, infection, and nail damage during removal. UV/LED lamps emit ultraviolet light; you may ask to apply sunscreen or wear UV-protective gloves.

We follow professional sanitation practices and use clean or disinfected tools, but we cannot eliminate every risk.

3. Patch tests and allergies

If you have a history of reactions, tell us before your appointment. A patch test or a different service may be recommended. If you experience itching, burning, swelling or pain during or after service, stop using the product, contact us, and seek medical care if needed.

4. Aftercare

  • Avoid using nails as tools, and wear gloves for cleaning and dishes.
  • Do not pick, peel or pull off enhancements; return for a professional removal.
  • Keep cuticle oil on hand, and keep nails away from prolonged hot water for the first 24 hours.
  • Book a fill about every 2–3 weeks. Waiting longer can cause lifting and damage.
  • 3D sculpted pieces, charms, buttons, gems and spikes can catch on hair, fabric and skin. Be gentle, avoid snagging, and remove or avoid sharp spikes around babies, pets and during sleep or sports.
  • Chrome and sculpted art are delicate. Avoid filing, scraping or using acetone on them yourself, because it can dull the finish or break the piece.
  • Long, stiletto and XL lengths break more easily and make everyday tasks harder. By choosing them you accept a higher chance of breakage, which is not covered as a defect.
  • Contact us within 3 days if something is wrong. We cannot fix damage from not following aftercare.

5. Voluntary assumption of risk and release

You understand the risks above and choose to receive services voluntarily. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and agree not to hold Tay's Beauty Garden and its owner responsible for injury, reaction or damage that results from the ordinary risks of nail services when you have given accurate health information and the service was performed with reasonable care. This release does not apply to injuries caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct, and it does not waive any rights that cannot be waived by law.

6. Minors, guests and pets

Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian to book, attend and sign on their behalf. For safety and sanitation, extra guests and pets (other than service animals) are not permitted unless approved in advance.

7. Illness policy

Please reschedule if you have a fever, are contagious, or feel unwell. We may ask you to reschedule if you appear ill, and we will do the same if we are unwell. Rescheduling for illness with notice will be handled kindly.
